Meet Our Leadership
Robert (Bob) Norkus, Executive Director
Bensalem Economic Development Corporation
As Executive Director of the BEDC, Bob leads the board of directors to support its mission to create the best possible environment for business and economic growth in Bensalem.
He draws on more than 40 years of experience as a business leader, entrepreneur, and veteran to work with the BEDC board, Bensalem administration, and regional business leaders to identify the township’s needs and opportunities, develop and provide critical resources, and help pave the way to successful and sustainable growth.
Prior to his role at the BEDC, Bob was the owner-operator of six supermarkets located in central New Jersey, the founder of Norkus Construction, a high-end residential and commercial construction company, and a management consultant for major companies throughout the Delaware Valley.
Bob served in the United States Navy as a Communications Specialist and Cryptographer for four years in Antigua (British West Indies), and Eleuthera, Bahamas.
A resident of Bensalem, Bob and his wife, Maggie, live on a farm property and have two horses. An avid gardener, Bob is also a wild bird enthusiast.
